A blog is a diary or journal that is used for self expression or to document personal experiences. Most bloggers are men under the age of 30. Blogs are updated regularly, and are interactive, allowing visitors to leave comments to the blogger and other readers. A blog consists of text, images, data, and links to other blogs and websites. Most blogs are made to look like stand alone websites.

Blogs can be a cost effective tool in business to increase its online presence. For a company that is short on cash, this can be the best way to introduce yourself to the world. In order to start a blog, you don't need to know HTML, which is very difficult for most people to learn. You can start a blog for your company without using a web designer, which is very costly. There are websites, like blogger.com, that allow you to start a blog for free, and also offer free templates so you can personalize your blog to best fit your company's needs. Blogs also allow for easy communication from customers who can leave feedback and instant access by the company leaders. Because blogs are updated regularly, you can introduce products and services faster and with less time and money.

This is the first time I have ever blogged. I've read a few blogs that my friends have posted. Their blogs seem to be a journal of their day to day activities, ways to keep a record of their time in the military, or of what their children are doing.

In a not-so-subtle turn, the fall 2014 semester has been pretty easy. My classes are not hard for me. Since my classes aren't hard, I think it should be easy to find a job. On the other hand, I've had surgery six times in nine years, and I worry that no one is going to want to hire me. I've worked twice during that time for six months each time. This last time, I couldn't even give notice due to the fact that I left work early one day and the next morning I had emergency surgery. On paper, I am not a smart choice. If someone really got to know me, they would realize that I can do anything. If I don't know how to do it, I will learn faster than anyone else. I work harder than co-workers just so I can prove that although I need some accommodations, I am willing to do everything I can and more.
